Happy Valentine's Day

Even though Aaron and I aren't officially celebrating today (or traditionally celebrating), I wanted to wish everyone a happy day, and say that I am SO happy for a three day weekend!

Tonight Aaron and I are going over to Bret and Jess' for dinner - prime rib, roasted asparagus, fancy potatoes, and Aaron's making a garlic dip for crackers. Mmmm, the garlic just got out of the oven, and is wafting through the whole apartment. Smells great.

This week was a normal week, nothing super exciting going on. We got to wear jeans all week at work because the company was celebrating its 5th year of going public (I think that's when the company switched from one name to the one we currently use, but I wasn't around during that time, so I don't remember exactly).

We almost got our taxes done last weekend, but Aaron wanted to wait for some bill to pass regarding people who bought a new car in 2008 (which both of us did), but he just found out yesterday that it only pertains to new cars that were bought after November 12th, and ours were both prior to that. Oh well, never hurts to try to catch a break!

Aaron started looking at houses again this week - seems like there's a lot of houses in the area where the monthly payment would be less than what we pay in rental here for the apartment. Which would be GREAT. We'd have to put in two months' notice at the rental place, and our lease ends in September, so we'd have to notify them by June or July. Which seems fast, but I guess if we can pull it off, more power to us. I'm also worried that we wouldn't be able to plan our wedding and work on buying a home all in the next 4-8 months, but Aaron seems to think we could pull it off. I have no idea what he's basing this on, as neither of us have planned a wedding OR bought a house before...so...yeah. We'll see how long this lasts, because it was about this time last year that Aaron was looking at houses.

We have FINALLY moved on to Step Three of Odin's toilet training! Which is to cut a slightly bigger hole in the center of the litter trainer. We had been on the first small hole (and half of that hole for a while) for probably two months now. Each step is supposed to take a week, but he kept having accidents or pitching fits, or SOMETHING to extend each week out into another. He's finally had a couple of weeks of no accidents, and I'm ready for him to move on, and for our apartment to be litter free.

Odin has a vet appointment on Monday, since I had the day off, to get his distemper and rabies shots, as he is now a healthy kitty. Then we can finally get tags for his collar, and get him registered with the city! (Since we were supposed to do that a year ago when we got him. Whoops!)

Well, I guess that's it for now. Until next time, whenever that may be!
